TV's First Golf Sitcom Filmed in Metro-Atlanta!

African-American Women at the Helm of Golf Sitcom Pilot Filmed In Metro Atlanta: Production of "The Clubhouse" pilot is set to begin at Sugar Creek Golf Course

DeKalb County, Georgia  September 26, 2011- Angi Bones, a local TV/movie producer along with Marie Dunovant, operator of Sugar Creek Golf  & Tennis, are producing what might be TV's first golf sitcom titled The Clubhouse.  The speculative pilot episode will be filmed at Sugar Creek Golf Course Oct. 1-2.

"It's something that's never been done before and that always makes for good TV," said Bones who's worked on more than 50 feature films and produced more than 180 sitcom episodes in Atlanta (House of Payne, Meet the Brown's TV Series.)

The premise of the show is The Office meets Caddyshack and was written last year by local novelist and sitcom writer, Brian Egeston.  Egeston is an avid golfer who plays at Sugar Creek where he met Dunovant.  Marie Dunovant agreed to have the pilot filmed at Sugar Creek which is one of the most popular municipal courses in DeKalb County. "Golf's global diversity thrives at municipal golf courses. These courses are where people of all cultures and classes come to play golf," said Dunovant.  Dunovant is the only African-American woman who owns a golf course management company (Sydmar Golf and Sports Management, Inc.) in the United States.  Sydmar Golf and Sports Management, Inc./Sugar Creek golf course is affiliated with the National Black Golf Hall of Fame, junior golf programs and women's  golf associations.
